![]() The sheer depth of the role-playing present in this game is truly mind-boggling, with the game being absolutely jam-packed with content at every corner. Players take on the role of an imprisoned Sourcerer and must make their way to freedom, either alone or with the assistance of their companions. It is very possible to get 9 or so hours into the game before realizing that you wanted the cat to be with someone else.Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of the top-selling RPG strategy-adventure games on Steam. If you really want that cat to follow a specific character (and you may want to if you want a specific character to have the Summon Cat Familiar skill, which is non-transferrable and will only be given to the character that the cat follows), there is a way to do it. Note that if the cat is already following you, it's too late. Originally posted by Gentleman Octopus:After a lot of experimenting, I've figured out how to make sure the black cat at the beginning of the Fort Joy area is assigned to the character you want. This is the only way I have found that you can have the cat follow a specific character. FINALLY, it imprinted on my skeleton summoner. The undead talked to the cat, then ran to my lizard!įinally, I sent all three of my other characters into battle, and sent the undead to talk to the cat. On my third attempt, I had Lohse in dialogue with Tam, and Beast in dialogue with The Red Prince. The undead talked to the cat, then the cat ran to Beast. On my second attempt, I had Lohse busy in dialogue with Tam. On my first attempt, the cat talked to my undead, then ran to Lohse directly after (even though she was standing near Tam on the other end of the island). I wanted my undead to have the cat, and also gave him Pet Pal (which makes no difference, apart from the fact that a Pet Pal character will get actual English dialogue). My personal set-up was that I had two origin characters- Lohse and Beast, along with two custom characters- an undead and a lizard. Now that all your other characters are busy, your non-busy character will take the cat with them! While your other characters are in battle, send your last character after the cat. You can easily go and walk into the fight with the Voidlings at x158, 圓26 without encountering the cat. Make sure all your other characters are busy in a battle. TLDR The key is to separate the character you want to have the cat follow from your other characters. Physical proximity also doesn't matter the cat can imprint on characters who are standing on the other side of the island (and they will mention the cat, even though they haven't physically seen it yet). The character the cat follows will have a piece of in-world dialogue (when the text floats over your character's head), such as "Oh look a black cat, here kitty kitty" or something similar. Note that it doesn't make a difference who talks to it first or whether they have the Pet Pal ability. The cat, from what I can tell, basically imprints on a random character once you approach it, and it seems to favor Origin characters over custom characters.
